Bill Rowe passed away this morning (December 2, 2004). All of us that knew him truly felt blessed. He was a local, state, national and world record holder in Masters competition. When he was 84, he couldn't wait to turn 85 and "age up" and set more records. He then turned in a blazing 33.07 for a 50 free. He was always willing to help novice swimmers with their stroke. He swam his whole life, even when he was in the Marine Corps. He was a fine gentleman and will be truly missed.

About 15 years or so ago, Bill Rowe convinced me to "give the backstroke a try" and then helped me to do it right (even though it took him a number of years!). Thanks Bill. (Mike Engel)
