Goodbye Tim. We'll Miss You!

We're sorry to see Tim leave for his new 15 lane pool in NJ but he will have to leave West Neck Beach behind! Along with a lot of good memories and a whole bunch of friends. And a lot of those "old" friends showed up at Meehan's on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 to hoist a pint or two in Tim's honor.

But, don't be surprised if Tim finds his way back for a swim or two. He and Leslie are just moving to New Jersey -- that's on the other side of the Hudson, not the other side of the Mississippi!

Swim Party Get-Together at Finley's: April 15, 2015

Wednesday night in Huntington found a few (Pod Size Group) of area swimmers and triathletes at Finley's on Greene Street to celebrate Tax Day. No, NO! It wasn't a tax day party, it was to say "Congratulations". "Best Wishes" etc to Katy, sandwiched between Margot and Erin. Katy will be getting married next month!

To get Katy to Finley's, unaware, she was told it was for my birthday which is also just around the corner. BTW, thanks for the "Happy Birthday" song.  Sad to say, it was easy to tell we were out with swimmers and not professional singers! Though I'm pretty sure Katy enjoyed her song, "Here Comes the Bride" even if NOBODY knew what came after "all dressed in white".

Below: Somebody's gotta make the bar run to pick up a few last drinks. Though, I am happy to report that at least half of us made it to the pool for the 5:30 to 7:00AM swim workout!

A Pre-Easter Swim: Saturday April 4, 2015

A pretty good turn-out for the weekly Saturday morning swim just before Easter Sunday. Though, I must confess that I thought it would be even busier than it was since the Y will be closed for Easter, Have a great holiday and we'll see you back in the pool on Monday morning!

Sunday Swim, February 1, 2015: MORE 100's by 100

And, they're off! And if this is Sunday, it must be another One Hundred 100's. It was... Sal missed last week and it didn't take much to talk Paul into doing a repeat. Though the picture below might show just a bit of physical coercion... or was Sal just flexing?? He may have been putting up a bit too many TBT pictures on FaceBook this week. Yeah, when you're 18, you don't even have to flex, it just comes naturally!

One Hundred 100's on a Sunday in January

One Hundred 100's, One Hundred 100's... it rolls so easily off the tongue but not so easily off those aching shoulders. The only two who managed the feat this January on Sunday, January 25, 2015 were Tim and Paul (pictured below). Though I suspect their shoulders weren't all that achy as they were back in the pool Monday morning for a more normal 4,000 yard workout. Congratulations to both Tim and Paul who may be doing a repeat sooner then expected as Sal was not available and he is the guy who started this whole One Hundred 100's at the Huntington YMCA.

Several other swimmers kept Tim and Paul company for part of their journey including Pat and Rich above and myself (Mike) and Rich in the photo below.

Even Nancy showed up, (see photo below), as well as John who did do the One Hundred 100's in 2014. What a difference a year makes!
