Remember last year's Swimmer's Christmas Brunch?
If you were there, and can't remember it, here are two pictures from the 2010 Brunch to jog your memory. If you weren't there last year than Sunday, December 4, 2011 is your chance to see just what you missed because we're going to "lather, rinse and repeat". That's right, just like one of those character building pool workouts we are going to repeat the 2010 party in 2011.
Same Place: Black & Blue Restaurant in downtown Huntington;
Same Time: 12:00 Noon;
Same Menu: DELICIOUS!,
Same Price: $25 (very reasonable for what we get!) And...
Almost the Same Date: Sunday, December 4, 2011 (just 364 days later!)
We'll have the main dining room in Black & Blue again -- the one with the big fish tank -- but we will have to give them a firm headcount 10 days in advance. So gather yea coins and please pay $25 per person, (CASH is King!), in advance to either myself (Mike Engel), the Coach (Bob Miller), or the Queen of West Neck Beach, (Carol Moore). (Note: Carol, I hope that it is OK that I put you on this detail -- I figure you have to stop swimming outdoors sometime... or maybe not!)

Last weekend, Yolanda and I headed into The City -- (which, of course, always means New York City!) -- to attend the wedding of our Goddaughter. Pictures from a wedding don't really belong on a blog about swimming, (unless it is the wedding of one of our swimmers!), but since I haven't posted anything new in awhile, (Since Sal's wedding, in fact!), I figured that these pictures of the waters surrounding NYC would certainly fit the "Swim Criteria"!
They fit because several of us have done swims in the Hudson River, The East River, New York Harbor -- specifically, The Brooklyn Bridge Swim, Lady Liberty Swim, Governors Island Swim, The Little Red Lighthouse Swim etc. Enjoy the pictures AND consider joining in on one of these New York City Swims -- the views are incredible and unique!
Why were these "water" pictures taken at a wedding? Good question, and "no", I wasn't goofing off! After the 4PM ceremony and before the 6:30PM reception, we all took a water taxi tour that started at Battery Park (near the Church) and ended at South Street Seaport (near the reception). The weather was great and the sunset spectacular. Had a great time at the wedding BUT that's a post for facebook!
