Sea Conditions at Point Lookout, Long Island, New York USA
The Link below will bring you directly to a Live webcam image of Point Lookout Beach. Also included on the page are temperatures -- both air and water and a whole raft of Tide and Weather observations at Point Lookout. Great for checking conditions at the beach BEFORE the race and maybe even for letting "stay-at-homes" check out the race LIVE on Saturday July 31st.

An apology from Bob Miller:
"To all...once again, I made a boo-boo. I left Mary Ellen Stajic's name off the Montauk Lighthouse Sprint Tri. She did really well...1st in her age group, 6th female and 42nd overall with a time of 1:13:42.
Sorry Mary Ellen.
She also did quite well in the Fairlee Triathlon in Vermont...2nd in her age-group with a time of 2:11:10. "
Note From Mike Engel about Bob's need to apologize:
Bob doesn't really need to apologize as he does a lot of work reading all the reports to pick out the names of HUMS racers. It's really easy to miss a name or two. We should just thank him for all this work. Right? Nah! It's more fun busting his chops!

Huntington Masters Swim Team
The Huntington Masters Swim Team has up to 20 official and unofficial members – though on some days we can have as few as 3 or 4 in for a workout to high of 14 or 15. Ages range from late 20’s to mid 60’s and all abilities. We have a fair amount of triathletes working out with us including two going to this year’s Ironman for the third time each.
We all swim at the Huntington YMCA during open lap swimming. We pretty much “take over” the two “fast” lanes. The Monday-Friday swim starts at 6:30 am and runs till whenever -- though most of us are out of the pool and off to work by 7:30 am. Saturday swim is from 8AM till 9:00am and Sunday is at 7am. There is NO formal on deck coaching just a bunch of us in the pool talking and swimming! Usual workout goes between 2,000 to 3,000 plus yards. There are NO costs associated with the Huntington Masters Swim Team but the Y is certainly not free. Call the Y for costs: 631-421-4242. The Y’s address is 60 Main Street in Huntington.
Hope to see you in the pool!
