West Neck Beach 1 & 2 Mile Swim: June 24, 2012

Under the watchful, and steely-eyed gaze of Lifeguards like Bob, the 2nd Annual West Neck Beach One and Two Mile Swim went off pretty much without a hitch -- especially if you ignore the early morning downed-tree on West Neck Road! Which, the town cleared away in record time!

If you were there, you know that the weather couldn't have been better! (Rob said he got his order in early!) I hope these pictures give you the feel of the event and, more importantly, if you weren't there that you'll see just why we love swimming at West Neck Beach, (some of us YEAR ROUND!), and that you'll join us in 2013 for the 3rd annual swim!

A Swimming Pool in the Shadow of the Grand Tetons (Jackson Hole, WY)

Over the Memorial Day holiday, I took a trip to Jackson Hole WY where I took LOTS of pictures of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Great pictures of majestic mountains, endless vistas, wild animals -- including bear and bison.

Tons of nature pictures but since this is a SWIMMING website and I only managed to get in a one day swim, (at about 7,000 feet so if you think you get winded at the Y or at West Neck Beach you ain't seen nothing till you swim at altitude!), and the picture above shows where I swam (2,500 EASY yards) -- the rec center in Jackson WY. I even had my own lane! A few of the "real" vacation pictures are up on Facebook.
